The film is intended to begin a conversation that we believe needs to be taken into every classroom and community, one that explores the causes of violence, and that figures out how to combat those causes at their source. We also hope that the film spurs dialogue around the role music can play, and hip-hop in particular, in addressing the violence.

To that end, we’ve created a curriculum packet for educators that includes:
* A DVD, with the full film (75 min), a shorter version for the classroom (35 min), and a behind-the-scenes mini-doc with the youth filmmakers.
* A discussion guide that accompanies the film
* Three lesson plans

In addition, we¹re partnering with Just Think and will be distributing their award-winning curriculum guide Flipping the Script, a comprehensive series of lesson plans designed to help educators integrate hip-hop into the classroom.
